Our Second Training Class
R to L-Phillip Cluck-Butterfly Valve, Jamie Parker from Southeast Industrial Sales, Buddy Williams from Process Valve, Tim Harris from Tri State Valve, Scooter Alford from Consolidated Controls, Parker Ruppert from Butterfly Valve, and Brian Whittemore from Southeast Industrial Sales. We were very pleased to host these gentlemen for our second positioner training class.

Next dates are June 9-10; space will fill up quick, so contact Jennifer at jfleming@vacaccessories.com to reserve a spot. We will have a special guest, Naas de Jager the product manager for the ABB digital positioner will be conducting the digital session so if you are wanting to learn more about D400 digital positioners this will be a good meeting to attend.

New Ad-Enclosed is a new ad that we will begin running this year in various trade publications. These ads make good mailers, handouts, or email attachments, so we can provide you with hard copies or a digital copy-just let us know which you would prefer.

Shipping out of distributors territory-We do not ship positioners out of one distributors territory into another as a general rule. The few exceptions are for specialty products, spare parts, and end user needs or demands (Panic!!). When orders for standard product are received with a ship to address out of your normal marketing area you will be contacted.

Handling/packaging fee-A $3 per box handling/packaging fee will be added to all shipments-even shipments where we have the shippers freight collect number. This fee as you know, is a real cost and should be reflected as such and charged for. This has gone into effect and can and will be seen on future invoices.

Reversing the action on the positioner
http://www.vacaccessories.com/pdfs/Troubleshooting%20Guide.pdf

The above is a link to a troubleshooting page on our website. The whole document is worth saving but the second half deals with reversing the action of a V100 or V200 positioner-P or E. While relatively simple, it continues to be a bit confusing, especially if a field technician is calling and someone before him did not follow ALL of the procedures. One of the “key” procedures that is missed is once you reverse the tubing and flip the cam over, BEFORE you tighten the cam, you need to turn the air supply back on and drive the unit/actuator to the “reverse” direction-then lock the cam nut and set screw. This DOES NOT change the fail position of a single acting actuator-that is determined by the actuator/spring and how it is mounted to the valve. Follow the instructions in the troubleshooting guide and this will be a successful procedure.

Serial numbers-We track each positioner by serial number. On a V100P there is one serial number and on an E there are two. When asked for the SN, we need the one on the side shown on the right hand side above (27673). The left is the Ip serial number, which is only tracked by the factory in Sweden. This number will eventually be removed to help prevent confusion.
