D400 – Valve Accessories and Controls is pleased to announce the release of our D400 Digital positioner. The D400 is a low air consumption digital positioner that uses the combination of an I/P and poppet valves to achieve its accurate control. The D400 is a microprocessor based, “intelligent” positioner that can be mounted to rotary or linear pneumatic actuators for accurate positioner control. It is available in standard 4 to 20mA, Hart, Profibus PA, and Foundation Fieldbus; and the different housings offer the right hazardous area classification that are required. Please give us a call for an accurate quote.

DAMPER CONTROL – In the previous Product News from VAC we discussed damper control, in doing so we thought it would be a good idea to offer the V100 with a special damper control option. The damper control option is basically a restriction in the spool valve, and since speed is not a critical component to damper control, this will help but not solve issues due to isolation or hunting. Actuator sizing is critical in providing good control. Typical sizing is often increased as much as 3Xs due to the unusual operating conditions.

V200 – A friendly reminder that the V200 is available in Explosion Proof. The same Control Air I/P is used and mounted with a bracket from the V200, all the air is passed inside the V200 so an extra supply to the I/P is NOT needed. Check out more information about the V200 at www.vacaccessories.com/v200html.

Price Increase – After six years of working hard to maintain our initial price, we will have a price increase after the first of the year. While this is never good news, we have all been associated with what is happening in our industry and across industry in general. Raw material prices from stainless to aluminum and even soft goods (o-rings-seals, etc.) have gone up. A few items will increase more than others, but in general the increase will be 3%.
