Trade
Shows and Ad The ISA Expo was held this
year in Houston on October 2nd through the 4th at Reliant
Center. The show was well attended, but has certainly
evolved over the years from being a good valve/actuator/positioner
show to more to do with “technology”-the huge
booths are gone and the participation has changed. The
ChemShow is going to be In New York City at the Javits
Convention Center on October 30th through November 1st.
Wayne Fleming (205-229-5395) and Randy Estes (713-253-7781)
will be walking the show and would like to say hello to
anyone that is attending the show as well. Again, please
feel free to call them at the numbers above. The VAC “Choice”
ad will be running in the next Valve Magazine, with additional
ads running throughout 08 in Valve and Control Magazine. |

Retrofit
Market-Flyer and Video Card – In
an effort to help distributors address the ever growing,
but often overlooked retrofit market we have developed
a new flyer and a small video card that focuses on this
huge market. While the “digital craze” continues,
many customers are looking for alternatives…their
choices are being greatly reduced by many of the valve
companies and the big instrument companies. Yes, digital
may be the answer, and we have good products for those
applications, but the customer may not need digital. As
we address customer needs are we just playing “follow
the leader”? Once a customer accepts the idea of
retrofitting, gets passed the mounting of a few units,
then the momentum in the plants grow and eventually lands
us in the storeroom and more repeat and steady MRO business.
New project sales are great…and needed, but we all
know this is an up and down market….MRO adds stability
to your sales.
Troubleshoot
Tips
– Remember that we have added
a troubleshooting tips section to the website-www.vacaccessories.com.
On the home page is a “Technician” with Technical
support….click on him....the tips will pop up. Also
remember when calibrating a positioner to always set the
zero first…..this assures you starting in the correct
zero position. Then check and adjust the span as needed.
